Spring Arts Musicians Register
Spring Arts Walk 2009
23 October till 3 November
Spring Arts is now in its 9th year. It is a signature event during the High Country Festival. The Spring Arts Opening Night Walk has musicians in each café venue that has been transformed into mini art galleries. The fun continues with other Spring Arts events up till Melbourne Cup day. This visual art and musical showcase creates a wonderful atmosphere and encourages many more people to come out and enjoy the fruits of our artists and musicians.
In the past
Arts Council has coordinated music in the venues for Opening Night and organised payment for the musicians who have generously played for less than they would usually ask.
This year
Arts Council will provide the venues with a list of available musicians so they make arrangements directly with the musicians.
Spring Arts Opening Night Walk format on Friday 23 October
6.30 – 8.00pm
As in past years we plan to start the Walk at the Hotel Delatite. From there tour guides will take ‘walkers’ around the various art venues which will host solo, joint and group art exhibitions. It is expected that musicians will play from 8.00 till 10.30 when the tours have finished and people are having dinner. But some venues may prefer musicians to play while the ‘Walk’ is happening between 6.30 – 8.00pm.
There may be opportunities to also play at other times during Spring Arts.
Get your name on the Musicians register
Arts Council is putting together a Musicians Register that will be given to each venue. Musicians may be contacted to play during the Opening Night Walk or at another Spring Arts event.
